Hi,

I have been researching whether it is possible to have a 3CX Hosted HA setup, but I can't seem to find any resources on this. Therefore, I decided to create this thread.

I understand that it is possible for the self-hosted version, which I believe I can set up in AWS Singapore across different zones for redundancy.

I am more keen towards the hosted version.

Thanks!

In general a "cloud" hosted server is going to have some level of high availability anyway. For instance if a specific web server dies the VM simply starts on another physical server.

As noted the 3CX failover will restore from backup at the configured interval. So it is a different thing.

Yes understand, however client want to have some sort of protection so failover should works in this kind of requirement. however, I think failover only works if I deploy on our own EC2. Hope this can be available in hosted environment where it can be a cross Digitalocean DC? Maybe 1 day.

There is no high availability only fail over

https://www.3cx.com/docs/failover/.

Yes, thanks thanks.

To answer the original question, o the Failover is not available on the 3CX hosted.

But we do proactivel monitor the instances for availability and take action on your behalf if something happens to the server or services.

Hi Nicholas
Thanks. Because I need to provide evidence that it is 2 separate machine, which means i have to go with the on-prem model and use 3cx to deploy it via lightsail and we have to buy 2 ENT license right?

ENT license has a standby license so only one is needed for both systems as they are clones (active/passive.)

Note that supported scenarios are on-prem to on-prem, and cloud-to-cloud. Not on-prem to cloud.

Ok got it. Thanks so much. Much clearer
