3CX in front of another phone system - PRI/SIP config and hypothetical questions

This is going out on a limb here but I have an interesting set of clients that are running some NEC SV9300 systems and I was wondering if this is possible. We used to do this with 3CX many years ago with older phone systems where we would bring in voip and push it straight out to PRI / Analog into a norstar or even older NEC but I know things have changed since then. Now we would just use an AudioCodes / Mediant 800/500 or similar SBC but its normally provided by the voip provider.

The problem is I both have some test labs and the bulk of our sip origination / termination is at the wholesale level and I cant feed those multiple endpoints into these types of devices. We have a lot of cost based calling where the call only connects if its financially viable. If it isnt the call isnt connected and our 3cx servers fallback to outbound via one of our more expensive but 100% routes.

1) what SIP to PRI gateways do you guys like to use in order to give a PRI to an existing phone system? Whats easiest to config and would play nicely with at least 2 separate voip providers (probably not on our wholesale level)

2) is it possible to use one of the above questioned SBC / media gateways to interject 3cx in this chain where I can lab some PRI support to an older phone system? Im wanting to see if its even possible to have 3cx send calls out to a PRI based phone system, send the proper DNIS for DID translation, etc... Also the reverse for outbound calls as well.

I would say AudioCodes would work well here or even the Adtran NetVanta Total Access devices. I've used both before and in a previous life I worked for a NEC dealer and used Adtran with all the NEC devices and a SIP provider and then would send that to either analog or to a PRI. Sometimes we would split it between the two or even pull out a few DID's for analog and the rest as SIP trunks to the PBX. That was more common with the 3C platform but still did a few with 8100, 8300, 9100, and 9300's. I have to say I don't miss those things at all.

Thats probably what I am going to end up doing because thats exactly what would fit the bill. Ill likely have to do some shopping to find some providers to work with those unless they would operate on a registrationless wholesale provider. We send invites out to/from some static IPs and both sides have access lists in the routers to block everything else.

If you have models handy Ill go ahead and check them out.

Im glad I was given the go-ahead to stop servicing the 2000 IPS that is still in-production. 2x 4 PIM units loaded with analog lines w/ a PRI CCIS between the 2 where the slave building uses the master's PRI for its only internal/external call source.
Now its all 9300s but I will be happy when I can load up 3cx at these sites. I hate being the only one in my company doing the NEC work (which I absolutely suck at because its NEC.... or PTSD from matworx.)
