Hello,

We have a 3CX setup with 4 dects. On the dects the users have changed the phone language and they have set a custom ringtone for special numbers.

However, the next day the settings are gone/reset, probably cause by the auto-provisioning of 3CX.

Please advise on how to disable this so the phone settings are kept.

Hi,

The language is controlled from the 3CX DECT provisioning page. If you set your desired language there is should honor it.

As for the ringtones, we don't provision them on the Snom DECT devices so not sure why they revert. You might have to speak with Snom though and get the details on this if you wish to investigate further.

I ran a quick check on an M900 (FW 06.50.0002), allowing it to reprovision itself. The custom Ringtone remained in my case, it was not lost.

What firmware version is your base running?

Hi,

thanks for this reply.
Yes the language you can seem to set in the antenna page, not in the dect phone page.

Firmware M900 = 650 B2

It's actually contacts in the personal address book that have custom ringtone.

Hi,

I tried to replicate your settings above, added an external number to the personal address book with a custom ringtone, then also rebooted the base to force a reprovisioning event to take place.

In my case the ringtone did not go away, so maybe you want to contact Snom support for further investigation.

Hello
3CX provision and overwrite the Snom dect Ringtone, if you want to disable it you need to disable the Remote Ring Tone Control in the Server tab :

Thanks for this.

@JohnS_3CX
I think the reprovision overwrites the default ringtone. And the user had changed the default ringtone on the dect.

So when you go on the M65 handset and check it the next day, you open the personal contacts, you edit your contact, go to the ringtone, and what do you find there?

For example if you selected Melody 5 does it become Melody 1 the next day?
