3CX PBX Professional 18.0 Update 1 (Build 237) / Debian 10 64-bit / hosted on AWS by 3CX partner

For the Grandstream HT801 (and presumably HT802), there was a change in the 1.0.29.8 firmware where the release notes say:
"
Increased password rules complexity for admin, user, and viewer level password. The rule is 8-39
characters, at least 1 digit, 1 uppercase and 1 lowercase, and 1 special character.
"
Unfortunately this is incompatible with 3CX which states, "Password should be alphanumeric, less than 20 characters in length and should not contain special characters".

The difference is special character requirements is what really kills compatibility.

On the firmware prior to that (1.0.27.2), I could have my standard site password on the fax ATA and 3CX PBX, but after I upgraded to 1.0.29.8 and later firmwares (1.0.31.1 and 1.0.33.4), the only password I can use which both 3CX and the ATA agree on is the default which is "admin".

Please see screenshots. Can 3CX developers please address this? Thanks.
NB: password in the 3CX password is an example only and not what I would use!
