3CX Phone calling Deskphone in CTI when making calls

For some reason - I place the softphone into CTI mode, make a call and it then rings the Yealink46g desktop phone.

Setup: Google Cloud Hosted, this is a demo so there is only 1 trunk from siptrunk.com feeding the 3cx in the cloud.

Desktop phone is STUN SIP Direct as well as CTI client - is an SBC needed??

Let me add - I place the call and the desktop phone does not go into the call - the phone starts ringing like it is RECEIVING a call.

This is typical with STUN in my experience. Let me guess, you see the words MakeCall on your phone while doing so. CTI and STUN do not get along in my experience, so it will have the PBX call your phone and the number at the same time.

Thanks - so an SBC installed at the location will fix this?

Please note that this is the default behaviour as CTI is not supported with phones provisioned with STUN so MAKE CALL will be used instead.
I would recommend using the new web client that can work in CTI provided you are using supported phones with the latest supported firmware and default templates.
