we have a client who has a 3CX PRO 8 SC Self Hosted Trial and has decided they don't require the functionality of Pro and want to use the SMB Free self Hosted option.

Can you advise if this is possible? Will letting the Pro version expire change it to the Free version?

Hello @[email protected].

The 3CX Pro and the SMB Free are two different products, and you cannot change from 3CX Pro to SMB without a complete reinstallation. There is no option to restore a backup from 3CX Pro to SMB and vice versa.
The SMB is a shared instance product that is hosted on our servers. The 3CX Pro is a dedicated installation that can be installed either as Self-Hosted, On Premise, or Hosted by 3CX.

So the free version cannot be installed on a self hosted option in Azure? This was an option with V18

The SMB was always a shared instance installed in our hosting environment.
You are referring to the 4SC Standard License which is no longer available as an option. It was a dedicated License Key that could be installed as self-hosted in Azure.
Please see our Annual Pricing for a Dedicated Instance
