3CX Recording Retention of 30 Days + Auto Archiving after 29 Days

Hey Everyone,

I have our 3CX system setup with a 365 integration for its backups. I have my retention policy for local recordings set to remove temp local recordings after 30 days.

I want to have recordings held on our sharepoint longer than 30 days, and as such have enabled auto archiving of our recordings older than 29 days, as in theory it would archive said recordings before being deleted off the 3CX system. However it then disables that 'Delete Temporary Recordings older than" setting.

Is this the correct way to set this up? And will recordings be removed from the local system when archived?

Just set the archive to 30 days. Backups will include local ones until then, then they'll be moved to the archive, which you can then manage retention on that side.

EvoluteIT is correct, just wanted to highlight the key point: The archiving is a MOVE operation, once it runs the files are off the PBX and do not need to be deleted from local storage via a second action.

You may want to take a look at our 3CX Recording Manager tool. We have separate retention policies for the original recording saved on the 3CX server, and a separate retention policy for archived recordings. This means you could keep recordings on your 3CX server for X days, but instantly archive the recordings too. Then, you can set the retention policy for the archives to keep for Y days. I think that is precisely what you are looking to accomplish. However, we offer additional benefits for the archived recordings -- we compress the recordings to be 75% smaller than the original with no noticeable degradation of the audio.
