3CX Roadmap & V18 alpha - Connecting Customers!

Nick, I recall you mentioning an on-premise version of the web conferencing server. Is that still in the plans and, if so, what is the availability date looking like? I want an on-prem version for complete privacy and to store the text chat conversation for legal reasons. Is it possible to store the audio and/or video too?
Since V18 Alpha 1, the Webmeeting Portal is hosted on the on-prem server along with the rest of the 3CX Services.
This means that all meeting data is stored locally.

For the time being, the MCUs that are used for the exchange or media between the participants are local and hosted by 3CX, but in a future Update we do also plan to provide the option for an on-prem MCU (no ETA we can share yet).

This was outlined in the V18 Alpha 1 blog post here:

I did not read through the whole thread, but do you guys already know that the v18 desktop app is popping up everytime a call comes in? We have customers which don't like this behaviour and it would be great to be able to disable this.

Other thing i noticed is that the groups tab is gone in backend, but can be called by replacing the last part of URL with "groups".

Go to Users > Groups. It's a button there now.

Yes, it does popup automatically on incoming calls. Why would they not want that? Don't use the app at that point, I guess?

It's pretty simple: They use only one screen and are getting disturbed in their workflow. They want to accept a call, but not to get interrupted while typing in other programs.
I know that the app is not taking focus, but only popping up. Nevertheless i feel like I should be able to tell the app how i want it to behave.

Thanks btw for the groups-hint :)

Hmm, I only know you can disable "Keep dialer on top", but nothing about preventing it from popping up, and no, it doesn't take focus so it's not really an issue I think.

Is there any plan on extending CRM integrations so we can embedded SMS activity along with phone usage activity in our CRM? We love the fact 3cx updates our CRM record when we call a client, but there's nothing (that i can find at least) of the sort for SMS. If we can embed the message in the CRM, or even an update record that says SMS sent/received would be a good start so we can ensure we are actively/accurately following up with leads via all channels.

Hello @socalcodingschools,

In the last alpha we released a few weeks ago, we added chat journaling capabilities to our CRM integrations. This works for Live Chat and also for SMS messages. When the agent selects "Dealt with" for the conversation with the customer, the entire chat session is sent to the CRM and logged as an activity.

thats awesome. when do we expect to go to beta? I dont want to push alpha to our production just yet :)

Does anyone know how to make BLF work on the new desktop APP? I had already seen the BLF configuration but don't know how to make it work.

Hello @58voip,

Beta release is expected for next week, where among other exciting features, we will have also BLF for the new Desktop App :)

obviously I know this is in beta, but is there a roadmap for when we think this is going to go out of Beta and into production?

Our intent is a few weeks after the Beta release if all goes well, but in software development things can change pretty quickly.
The thing I can say for sure is that right now we are happy with the progress that we are making and that the software is looking very stable and the only pending things on our to-do list are minor fixes and polishing.
As I said though, you never know what might come up during testing.

Once it does get released though, rest assured that you will hear about it. :)

If it is possible, as soon as you have an alpha of the API, I would like to play with it! We do tons of integrations and the API is something we've been waiting for for a long time! ;)
We need API also!! It's very very important for us!!
