Hi Guys,

I got 3cx on an Azure A1 VM with 1.7GB RAM, every few days 3cx uses all the memory and crashes. Can anyone advise?

It would help to know more about the situation such as license types, call paths, number of extensions, call recordings in place, etc. and if on your own personal instance or through PBX Express or other.

As a side note, when looking at the resources needed to run 3CX on non-hosted Windows platforms, the minimum is 2GB. I personally, would never run the system with that as I consider memory much cheaper than my time trying to figure out what all may need added resources now and in the future when updates, new features, etc. come out over which I may have little control. Further, less memory also equals more potential of disk swapping as memory needs grow. I prefer to preserve the disks as well.

While the linux versions reportedly will run on even less than 1GB, it is assumed that these are all sole-purposed machines (and running very small systems. I still would not run at this either.

While the recommended minimums are just that, I do not know that it is possible to predict all possible scenarios such that the bare minimum will cover the "most" (whatever this means) fully configured, feature laden invoked system (plenty of IVRs, Qs with call back, forwarding,
RGs, hundreds of extensions all with web client, and an 8 call system with all calls recorded). While what I stated is not likely, the point is that the system is highly configurable and can be a simple implementation or complex and that given the flexibilty, these minimums are only a recommended and that upgrades may need to be considered should issues arise as there are no absolutes.

Unless others can chime in with their experience that relates to your scenario, you may need to consider upping the memory.

Hi,

I am running a very basic setup here with 4 Extensions, No call recordings, Standard License. I see no reason for it to be maxing out memory all the time.

Do you see the service that is consuming the memory? Does the memory usage slowly rising or does it spike causing it to crush? What PBX version are you running? You can see the exact build number on the Dashboard, under the Information column next to the licence version. For example 15.5.15502.6.
