Hi All,

We are setting up 3CX cloud for about 40 remote Yealink phones. Can 3CX SBC controller on Raspberry Pi support this many phones to make the connection back to 3CX Cloud (as well as keep internal calls between the phones inside the LAN)? How many phones does 3CX SBC controller on Raspberry PI officially support?

A single SBC will reportedly support up to 15. However, there is nothing that stops you from using more than one.

As far a containing internal traffic -

There was a forum posting indicating that one of the users had discovered that internal traffic was not being contained, but was in fact traversing outside and back in. I believe 3CX indicated a confirmation of this and that they would address in a software update. You may want to search the forum and locate the thread as perhaps there has been an update since as this was a couple/few months ago.

Ok, thanks...will def check the update out. I would imagine, that if they did update it, it would be included in the latest install. Hopefully so.

Given its work 40 workstations, I may just put a workstation in place.

Ok, thanks again.

Instead of a workstation, you may want to check out more capable SBCs. Generally, they are pretty much set and forget and do not require the upkeep that a workstation does. Bardisi (sp? and apologies) is a forum contributor who does extensive cloud hosting with 3CX and is a strong advocate of SBC usage. You might reach out to him for some pointers and his suggestion on hardware.

May be using MikroTik routers will be easy, cheaper and high-performing, allowing lots of configurations (network topologies), like Layer 2 a Layer 3 connectivity, security, etc.
