Hello,

I really hope you are doing fine.

i would like to have a clarification regarding the Switch to Hosted by 3CX.

I have client Which is Self Hosting it's actual 3CX version 20 build 8, the client want to switch to host directly with 3CX.

However, this client has several Site accross different cities. Hence we are using Yealink IP T57W phone as SBC PHONE for those remote site.
There are approx 6 of them.

I would like to know if we switch to hosted - will it be seamless without any disruption or reconfiguration needed.

Or due to SBC phone we will have to go site to site to reconfigure the IP Phone Manually.

kindly advise as this is quote urgent the Client wans to migrate before end of February.

Hi,

The SBCs use the FQDN so they should reconnect without issue (after the DNS switches over).

If someone has done this type of move in the wild perhaps they can share their experience and any tips for a smoother/faster switch over.

@gregory.b keep in mind that since the customer is on U8, then they have to deploy the hosted by 3cx PBX blank,
update the PBX to U8 and then restore the backup on top of the new installation ( pull it from an FTP, Google Storage, Sharepoint.... )
The portal installs only stable versions and now its on U7.
Since they are on RC now, you/they have to either do the above procedure or wait when the U8 comes up as final and then deploy.

It is, but just to answer, 3CX.com/blog, or the product releases forum category. Or enable email notification for updates in the 3CX server, usually we see those first.
Edit: or a server’s dashboard/update page of course
