3cx sip trunking

hey am a newbie in 3cx and i recently installed it. i keep getting call failed, declined when ever a try to make an internal call via the extensions but devices can chat and do conferencing between each other.
my question is does 3cx requires sip trunking to make internal calls?

I was making calls 'in house' ext to ext without sip trunking working due to 'errors'. I'm also a newbie with this software.

For internal calls you dont need a sip trunk.
Check are your extensions are registered and take a look the 3cx log, what does it says.

What type of sets are you using? As mentioned, check the 3CX Activity Log. It will show what happened to the call and why, it did not complete, if it made it to the PBX. Are the sets and the PBX, on the same LAN?
