3CX Supported Wireless WiFi VoIP Phones?

There are none right now. However, the Grandstream WP820 works great with 3CX from what I've heard.

I've never used the WP820 but I use many Grandstream devices with 3CX.

As for the template, no, others won't work. If you are a Grandstream partner, you can request a template from GS directly but note that it won't be supported by 3CX. I use custom templates for GXV3370 and DP752 and they work beautifully.

I was able to provision a Wp820 using the standard Grandstream 3cx template. The only problem i have noticed is when the phone loses a wifi connection during a call, 3cx doesn't always release the call.

I'm supposedly on the grandstream waiting list for their wp820 template but haven't heard anything in 6 months or more.

Hi,

What template did you use? Those included in 3CX are using P-codes and are NOT COMPATIBLE with other models. You might be lucky for a few P-codes but mostly they differ from model to model.

As for the template from GS, if you are a partner of them, simply open a new ticket and directly ask for it, they might be kind enough to send it to you but 3CX will not support it, only Grandstream will.

I don't know if someone from 3CX can tell us, but I think they are working on certifying a few new devices from GS, it might just take some time since it's a long process of back-and-forth.

The WP820 registers, makes, receives, transfers calls and even roams between wifi access points. There may be some advanced features that don't work but I haven't found any yet.

That's what I said, you're lucky.

Obviously, the best thing is to use a template made for the phone. Some features or settings are tweaked from device to device. Even the 3CX official template has if/else statement for different models of phones.

I never tested it and would never have. I have some experience with Grandstream devices and I've learn the hard way that "it just works" is not always the case

I was wrong, but I don't think anyone would recommend doing this over using an officially GS-provided template for each device.

If they were using simpler config (instead of annoying P-codes) like Yealink and Cisco, obviously, It'd be different.

My favourite Wifi desk set is also, unfortunately, no longer officially supported...the Cisco SPA525G. For a single set or two, it's great, as it is easily configured with a GUI, especially if you are familiar with any Linksys/Cisco menu. They are relatively easy to find and (usually) at a good price. If you're not doing a whole office, they are worth keeping an eye out for.

So it depends on what you consider supported. All of the T4X phones support WiFi with the add-on dongle, but the wifi itself has to be configured manually, it's not configurable in the management console. Snom D3XX and D7XX phones also have a wifi dongle. And are you sure you want WiFi? DECT is almost universally better if you don't have a proper wireless network.
