came back from lunch today and got a frantic call from a customer. Left 2 voicemails while I was a t lunch. I did not receive email notice nor does the phone show the usual voicemail alert icon on the display. This just started to not work apparently this morning

I'm new to the 3cx system, other than setting up new extensions in the past on it. Have not had to troubleshoot an issue before (it always worked!)

I've looked at several extension settings on the GUI and nothing has changed there. I do not believe my boss has done any updates recently to the over-all system.

Any ideas where to proceed to look?

Sounds like they did not leave any message since no visual display on the screen like the voicemail icon or no email. You can verify to see if they actually called you by going into your call history. You can also double check your extension to see if you are set to receive emails.

I had 2 new voicemails that existed in my mailbox, and 1 voicemail in our tech support mailbox. No notice from these. I also called into our office from my cell to test for verification and left a voicemail for myself, and no notice or indicator again. So voicemails are being left. Just no notice (email or indicator) of any kind

What are your email notifications setting on your extension, which is under the voicemail tab.Email-Notify.JPG

And this probably won't make a difference, but what are your powerLED settings? i have turned ours off because all of the phones have a dedicated message button light.

I have not seen it to where it won't light up the button and not email the person for a voicemail that was actually left. The only other option i have is to reboot the phone and test again to see if the message light shows up.

LED settings are to send vmail as attachment, and Power LED notice is for voicemails (I hate the missed call notices)

well, it was something amiss on the 3cx server itself. I was able to reboot the actual server, updated the kernel, and all is working again
