Hi Everyone,

We run the PA/messaging software Singlewire Informacast Fusion here. Informacast has the ability to allow for duplex conversation between a phone and an IP speaker. I have a generic SIP trunk setup on a local 3cx VM to my local Informacast VM. Regular broadcasts (1 way messaging from phone to speaker) are working fine but duplex is still not working. The following is how Informacast has outlined the process that occurs when a duplex call is made from a phone:
  1. Call from IP Phone to IP Speaker routes across SIP Trunk between PBX and InformaCast over port 5060
  2. InformaCast answers the call and checks its dialplan to see if it has a match
    1. If a DialCast pattern is matched, InformaCast plays the corresponding message to the recipients listed in the DialCast configuration (e.g. one-way audio)
    2. If no DialCast pattern is matched, InformaCast checks for SIP Speakers
    3. If InformaCast finds a SIP speaker DN that matches the called number, it will send the 302 Moved Temporarily message to the initiating phone to tell it to communicate directly with the IP Speaker over port 5160. This allows the media to be direct between phone and speaker and doesn't put InformaCast in the middle to anchor the media streams.
    4. Phone and Speaker negotiate codec and carry on with their conversation.
Informacast is asking if there is a way to setup 3cx to support a 302 message. Anyone know if this is even possible?

Thanks

I don't think so but have you tried enabling "PBX Delivers Audio" on both the trunk and phone extension?

The 3CX PBX will accept 302 Diversion messages through a trunk. Just make sure its structured correctly. If the 302 directs the call to an internal extension then the PBX will Invite the internal extension.

Ok got PBX Delivers Audio checked.

YiannisH_3CX, when you say structured correctly, is there anything specific you know that I should be looking at?
The 302 definitely directs the call to the extension of the speaker which is set in Informacast only.

Just that it is in accordance with the RFC rules, that's all.

Will the 302 only work if it redirects to an extension in 3cx? In the case of Informacast, the extension of the individual speaker is maintained in Informacast. It is not maintained in 3cx.

The PBX will receive a 302 Invite. If it can match the destination then the call will work. If not then the call will fail. How do you expect the PBX to find an extension that is not its own?
Since the extension is maintained by Informacast and the Informacast is the one doing the 302 don't you think it should be able to locate its own extension without sending an Invite back to to 3CX and tell that extension to speak directly to 3CX?

I am not sure why the device you have works this way but i don't think your scenario will work with 3CX. Since the device was added like a SIP Trunk it will be treated as a SIP Trunk from 3CX.

I would recommend getting a supported device from our supported devices list.
