3CX update failed - xxx.west.3cx.us

Updates have repeated failed for our 3cx. It's a local Debian server on VMware.
The phone system still works fine, but we have two other concurrent problems - (in other threads) 'server error' when attempting to log onto the web admin and ssl certificate failures.

Thought this was a duplicate at first. Can you confirm DNS works locally (via virtual console or SSH).

I did an nslookup on the 3cx server for some external sites and it worked. Also, if I look up the server (xxx.west.3cx.us) from my desktop it produces the correct IP.
