Unable to upgrade/update the 3CX system: we are on version 16.0.6.655, which is "Out Of Date" and need to update to the next available version 16.0.7.1078 on the Dashboard.

Following the instruction to update the system produced the following message:

"The 3CX services need to be stopped during the update. Management Console will be unavailable
during this time. An email will be sent to the Admin after the update is complete. Do you want to proceed with the update?"

Confirm update, which I did but it does not update and when I logged back to the 3CX Dashboard to check, no change to the current version 16.0.6.655.

Please, your support and help would be appreciated?

Hi @peter osazuwa,

Did you receive any email afterwards stating that the upgrade had failed / succeeded (assuming not in this case)? If you received one, can you attach the logs here?

Thank you @VasilisV_3CX, that is the thing, no email received and no response of either failed or succeeded. The system (3CX dashboard) simply logs me off/out, me thinking I will receive an email when the update is through... I have tried doing the same update process many times with various browsers, still nothing!

Hi @peter osazuwa,

To confirm, you do receive the other emails, correct? Welcome Emails etc, you are the PBX administrator and normally get all PBX related emails right?

A big thank so far, the email was sent to another email address, so that is now fixed.

The update attempts failed and here, below is the log file message:

Hi @VasilisV_3CX, I now have the go-ahead for the change, I need to clarify something or ask another question before I try Method 1. Our 3CX deployment is on iTAs to COMX connections that were preset by the Farsouth technician, who as far as I can remember said we should not do any on the iTA’s or the comX and to always work through the 3CX dashboard. I am checking this would not impact our current configuration?

Hi @peter osazuwa,

I'd suggest speaking with Farsouth to assist you with the upgrade, as they're the ones who originally set up your network.

Hello @VasilisV_3CX, massive thank you for your help and support. We have managed to resolve and upgraded to v18! It was a long and eventful upgrade as there were a few distinct elements... the OS, 3CX appliance and Far South virtual gateway... The team at Far South was excellent and is now providing us with operation steps/guide document to ensure the environment stay updated. I guess we learn a few things, above all to ensure we keep and stay updated on the latest versions! Thanks again.
