Unsupported 3cx v18 debian 10 wireless nic before install

Dear 3cx and Forum members,

3cx version 18, debian 10,

in my server setup, there is one wired NIC static IP that connects to the SIP Trunk and another Wireless NIC which is internet facing, and 3cx clients connect.

so during the OS install stage the wireless NIC is shown and I could connect to it also but after reboot during the actual(boot from installed Debian 10) 3cx download stage wireless NIC is disabled so 3cx doesn't install unless I connect the internet to wired nic which I don't want to do, but for the purpose of finishing install I did and completed 3cx install.

now after reboot 3cx gives 2 options web config or command line config and doesn't allow me to log in to the Debian 10 os as root, so i have to run web config while internet is connected to wired NIC and finish restoring from the backup file.

so after that when i reboot 3cx it finally allows me to log in to root in Debian 10 and then I enable wifi using connman debain package and connect to internet and connect the wired NIC back to sip trunk.

but because of the above mess during setup, the 3cx v18 afterward doesn't work properly even if i change it to the correct network(internet facing gateway option) in settings page network tab.


how to enable wifi and keep connected to it before 3cx setup starts ?

Using a wireless NIC is not a 3CX Supported configuration so we can't actually provide any recommendations on this. Also, the fact that additional debian packages are required further renders the instance unsupported so you might want to consider switching to a fully wired setup if possible. If you do go down this route(wired connection) I recommend redeploying from scratch using the 3CX ISO since you've already made some modifications to the existing instance.
