Hey all,

I have created extensions and I have assigned several SBC: 3CXPhone for Windows to various extensions. However, when I send the Welcome Email via the 3CX web server management console, none of the receipts receive them (we are using Outlook with a SMTP Microsoft Exchange server) and I've connected their company emails with the phone extension they are using. We are not using a custom welcome email or anything.

Are the emails being rejected on our end (don't see anything in the logs), or a problem with the 3CX? Our Maintenance license has expired. Could that be a cause?

Thanks,

Have you set-up, and do you receive "error" emails, from the PBX? Do they get through?

I have set it up, but have not received any emails from the PBX. I set up a dummy extension, and have tried gmail/edu email addresses. When I do connect one of those to the extension, and then click on Send Welcome Email and then click on the extension an error message pop up "An exception occurred. Error: Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 Unable to relay."

Hello @castillor

What happens when you click the test button under Settings / Email? Is the test successful?

Nothing happens. A circle appears, but then nothing. No email gets sent. We are running an older version of 3CX (version 14).

In that case i would recommend upgrading the V15.5 sp6 as soon as possible. Due to changes to the activation server older versions of the PBX are no longer able to activate. This could cause your issue to revert to free and lose functionality. Your first step is upgrading and see if you face the same issue in the latest version of the PBX
