3CXV20 Multi Tenant on Lightsail

I have a client that is a (small) franchise, I would like to create a multi tenant version rather than run a phone system per franchisee. I see you have to choose the self host option to use a configuration file and set up multi tenant, you don't get the option when setting up a lightsail version. Is this a case of building a local server, backing up the config then restoring to a lightsail instance? I can't see any other way of doing it.

If you build your own self-hosted instance you need to configure the following parameters to enable multi tenancy

Licensing Requirement​

3CX multi-tenant is licensed in exactly the same way as a normal 3CX license, except that certain minimum requirements apply and you cannot use your NFR license for the multi-tenant version. The SIM calls licenses are spread out over the customers you configure and as you grow your multi-tenant system, you upgrade your license just like a normal installation.

In this Beta version (the feature), no licensing requirements have been enforced(for now).
So anybody can try out the multi-tenant feature with any 3CX license. In future a minimum license of 64 (or 32 - this is under discussion at 3CX) SIM calls will be enforced.

Deployment​

This feature is in beta phase; it is not officially ready for market release.
3CX partners who are already deploying clients using this feature should be prepared to respond to 3CX's requirements when the feature is officially released.

Obviously, there will be partners who will say... "We were not warned!"
We were warned on June 14th, 2024 by Michael Borg, CTO, 3CX.

Let's bet that many resellers haven't read the important article.
