We've been asked to quote to install 57 extensions on a site. The guide states a maximum of 50 extensions on a PC based SBC, would it do 57 extensions with a maximum of 20 simultaneous calls?

Just to add before someone suggests it, a VPN is not viable as it is not allowed by the companies IT provider.

Hi,

Why do you not use 2 SBC’s?
Connect 30 extensions to SBC1 and the other 27 extensions to SBC2?

Hello @Wendelspanswick

I would recommend sticking to what the guide sets as a maximum to avoid any issues in the future. You could use 2 SBC's and split the extensions between them.

Thank you for the replies, 2 SBC's it is. Do you select which SBC to use in the provisioning tab?

Yes, you would just enter the IP address of the SBC you want to use.

You can virtulize multiple SBC's also if you don't want to use several pieces of hardware.

Seem to work fine on Windows and Linux.

Sounds like they need a new IT provider. I can understand not wanting a VPN into the data network but if they are that concerned they should be providing either physical or logical network separation thus alleviating the VPN concern.
