I don’t have permissions to post in the idea forum so posting here to vent. But also maybe someone has a better idea.

We are a global organisation of 4K+ users. Our central help desk number is x7777 hosted on another phone system. I’ve just moved our remote sites to 3CX to find that 7777 is hard coded into the software.

My workaround is an outbound rule to ‘fix’ 777 dialled from a phone to 7777 down a specific SIP trunk. But it means changing the number for a lot of users.

Very annoying. Am I missing something? If not, an idea for the idea area - don’t hard code numbers.

Thank you.

I'm pretty sure whatever PBX you moved from had hard coded numbers. I'm not sure I've worked with a PBX that didn't. It's just one of those things you have to be aware of an plan for a work around. Doubt it would get any traction in the ideas section but you never know. Sorry this snuck up on you.

Thank you. Figured I’ve found the best solution, but doesn’t hurt to get more eyes on it.
