8SC Standard Perpetual

It seems that the 8SC Standard is now a free license. So what now happens to those who have the Perpetual 8SC Standard.. It seems that there its no Perpetual for 8SC and only annual. So does this mean if I want to upgrade my 8SC to pro or enterprise I need to go to 16 SC??? It just seems that now by 3CX making 8SC Standard Free it just devalued the Perpetual 8SC standard to zero... I was told that I can trade my Perpetual to an annual and get 1 year free of charge, but how can one get free of charge, when 8SC standard is now free. Doesn't make any sense. Someone enlighten me here. $$$ that was spent on Perpetual now seems it was a waste versus to annual..

Not sure what exactly the complaint or concern is here. What you used to have to pay annual maintenance for you now get for free. How exactly is that a problem? And if you had a commercial standard license prior to v16 release it will get upgraded to Pro. At that point you can continue to pay for maintenance on Pro. Beyond that yes you will need to go to annual for less than 16SC.

Here is my issue. I already have a preputual 8SC standard. That I bought last year. So now 8SC is free. So I paid for versus annual. And because I have a preputal license I still have to pay for the annual maintenance. And if I want to upgrade to pro or enterprise I would have to trade my prepual license for an annual. Or be forced to go to 16SC. So my preputal license just got devalued to Zero

In that case yes you are in that window where you got screwed. If you had the perpetual for more than a couple of years you still would have saved money by buying perpetual over annual but not in this case.

Exactly. I can trade in my prepual for an annual and they say I get free year of annual. But my argument is the annual is free, so I said what then am I getting. Absolutely nothing. The 8SC Standard preputal has been devalued to Zero

Well actually what is going to happen is your 8SC standard is going to be automatically upgraded to Pro. From there you will be able to pay maintenance to keep your perpetual or go back to 8SC Standard for free. So not a complete devaluation. But it is what it is.

What information do you have that my preputal 8SC Standard will be upgraded to 8SC Pro??? Information from 3CX in an email was my choices are continue to pay for Maintenance annually in order to continue to receive updates or trade in for annual and get a year free. But what am I getting if 8sc Standard is now free. I also asked if I ever wanted to upgrade to 8 SC pro or 8SC enterprise and they said I can’t on a preputal. That I would have to trade in my preputal for the annual then upgrade on a annual. Or if I still want preputal go to 16 SC. I’d like to see what info you have that 8SC standard preputal will automatically go to 8SC pro preputal. No where did 3cx mention this in their email and couldn’t find anything anywhere on their web or their blogs.

i'm in same situation, my feeling is 3CX give freely what the other customers have to pay.
Instead of giving keys freely and change the commercial rules each year, would be good if anyone has to pay for a 3cx key and if 3CX wants to offer something they could gift a maintenance year.

Also removing feature (queue) you paid for and used for long time in STD keys is a scandal !

If you have a perpetual 8 SC standard key you can upgrade your PBX to V16 and your key will be upgraded to perpetual 8 SC Pro with all the Pro features. You can then continue to pay maintenance on your 8 SC key.

I have an Linux System and a Windows system. The Linux was Automatically upgraded to V16. However not the windows. Will the Windows upgrade automatically or I do need to do that manually. If Manually what are the instructions for the upgrade...

And someone in this Forum said that my Perpetual 8SC Standard would be upgraded to Perpetual 8SC Pro. That didn't happen with the 1 system on the Linux. It is still at Standard...

Windows systems will not auto-upgrade to V16 as there are some restrictions with the windows architecture that does not allow for an upgrade. You will need to perform a backup of the system and then un-install V15.5 and install V16 using your backup.

And someone in this Forum said that my Perpetual 8SC Standard would be upgraded to Perpetual 8SC Pro. That didn't happen with the 1 system on the Linux. It is still at Standard...
