As I look at call assistant it seems that it is designed for use by a live recemptionist to direct calls etc. Is this accurate?

Is there a manual or instruction sheet available for call assistant?

Thanks again

The interface seems for receptionist. It can provide users and gateway status. However, it need to logon with specified voicemail ID and password. And it can handle the request by that logon voicemail's extension.

Call assistant

Hi Ralph - There is basically nothing that should give you trouble with call assistant - you log in ; it is infact used most with receptionists and people who need an incoming call routed to another extension. Of course you can transfer and put on hold. Similar functions to that of a sip/soft phone. However it gives you more information of who is away and available, which lines are active, members of a queue, and other information that a normal sip/soft phone will not display.

Always use the same version of call assistant as that of the released version of the 3CX PBX. Download CA from the main login screen of the 3CX PBX. Do not use different versions of CA and PBX. You might have problems. In the future CA will update it's version automatically but at the moment you have to upgrade manually whenever u upgrade the 3CX PBX.

The 3CX phonesystem main manual explains some things about call assistant. What would you like to know exactly? It seems pretty straight forward. Even logging in is very easy and to the point.
