Solved activation.3cx.com not reachable

Hi,

we are trying to renew a license and have a new key available bit we get the message that activation.3cx.com is not reachable.
doing a quick lookup tells us that activation.3cx.com is not even active as dns record.

Anybody else having this issue?

I chatted with 3cx customer service and they said it should work and all systems are good on their end..
hope I'm not the only one having this isue.

Thats what I tought too but the 3cx pbx (v18) was saying activation.3cx.com wasnt reachable. now Activate.3cx.com is reachable but im getting the same error... any advixe on how to get my license activated?

Change the 3cx server dns records to google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 , then try again.

What version of V18 i.e.

18.0 (Build 461)

You need to be using v18 U3 or v16 last hotfix for activation these days.

kinda chicken and the egg story here.. cant update until activated and cant activate because not having the latest service pack installed

If you cannot upgrade via the 3CX MC updates section you will have to take a backup re-install the latest version and restore.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your last response. This is what I did to resolve the issue. I appreciate the PM as well. We lost the SSH password for the device as well so couldn't go that route. backing it up, reinstall and restore killed two birds with one stone.
