Active passive failover via 2 sites on IPSEC

I bought 2 x identical high spec R630 dell servers to be installed at both our site locations, one serves as our PBX the other I am wanting to setup as a failover

We connect both sites via IPSEC

They are both Debian installs

They can ping/communicate with anything on their home sites and devices on the opposite site, just not each other

I am thinking the issue is due to a routing command that needs to be set in Debian? Any windows based machines have no issue communicating across the sites, just these Debian boxes

If you can reach other devices across the site to site tunnel then clearly it's not a routing issue. The installs probably just don't respond to ping.

They respond to ping when on their home site from other devices, they cant see each other

I am thinking maybe its ports being blocked by firewalls now across the IPSEC - I'll investigate it today
