We now wish to upgrade to the Enterprise license and have a few questions before continuing.
We must answer if we wish to "Add Hosted by 3CX."

1. Amazon Lightsail has been good, and the cost is steadily low. What would be the benefits of 3CX Hosted?

2. Since we are always searching for ways to improve, I asked if it matters geographically where the server is hosted. The server should be close to the extensions, and the SIP provider should be close to the country where most calls are destined, is what I (think) I recall. Is this theory widely practiced, considered best practice, or incorrect?

3. If there is truth to this theory, then with Amazon Lightsail, we can relocate the 3CX server at any time. Can we specify where the 3CX server is located if Hosted by 3CX?

Thanks -meir

The only time I recommend Hosted is if you don't know or don't want to manage servers.

If you just want something that works, sure go Hosted but keep in mind that you lose full control over the machine, lose access to some features and can't move it where you want. You'll have to reach out to their support every single time.

Lightsail is good but if you want control but stability, I'd go DigitalOcean. 3CX hosts there anyway, but you can keep the control of the instance. You can host it in a DC close to your offices and provider. For example, we host in Montreal and Toronto but also in the US for those American customers.

Also, if you don't have a partner to assist withholding all of that, I strongly suggest getting one! :)
