i have version 20 3cx with enterprise license. i am trying to add a user 10001 when i hit save it says "Value already in use" i dont see any user, digital receptionist, queue or anything else with this number. Does 3CX have a way to look up where a number is used? How do i find out where this number is used in the 3CX and delete it?

Its your second VoIP trunk that uses 10001

These extension ranges are reserved for SIP Trunks. You can check the extension numbers that are assigned under the department's section within the department to which your trunks are assigned.

i have 3 sip trunks set up to an sbc trunk numbers 90001, 90002, and 90003

all 3 sip trunks are set to system wide they are not for a specific department.

it let me build a user 1000 and 10002, i like to use 10000 -10009 for my digital receptionist dial options 0-9

As charles said, the SIP trunks normally use those extensions. If you create externsion before addings trunks, you can claim them.
The problem is, now you have to delete trunks, add the IVRs and then readd the trunks to get those extensions

As @Benedikt Machens has noted, creating user extensions in this range is going to be problematic. You do not want to be in a position where you have trunk IDs and extension numbers fighting with each other as you add more trunks. This is how 3CX works and it cannot be changed. It is time for you to consider a different approach to numbering your Digital Receptionists.
