Hi Team,

Hoping someone can help with this quick one.

Where would I find the equivalent of 'rights' in v20?

I would like to enable users to be allowed to add to the Company address book, and I can't seem to figure it out.

In V20 the rights are now Access Roles that are predefined. You can check the complete list here for more information.

Which affects the address book? The equivalent to "Can manage the company phonebook."

System Administrators and System Owners can manage the 3CX Phonebook.

OK thanks. Can that be added to the roles doc?

At the very least let Managers edit the Company Phonebook.

nice Joke; Want to change the Phonebook - make me Owner or Admin.

Plz change ASAP - either roles customable or phonebook edit on level Reception
I agree with this... or maybe be able to just add the permision to a specific user, without depending of the role?
Thanks.

I also agree. It would be best to have at least a manager role to be able to edit the phonebook. Or have an option you can enable per user.

Almost everyone should be able to edit the company phonebook, at least in SMB.

@Nick Galea can you please look into having this change as it can be dangerous to give general staff System Administrators and System Owners rights just to edit the Company PhoneBook.

Please bring back previous setting or have at department level as a optional tick box.

Unfortunately, this is typical 3CX... there is a clear difference between how business works and how 3CX thinks it should work.

An administrator is eager to continuously add telephone numbers to the company phone book...yes, of course...not!

You must be able to switch rights to the company phone book on and off per group and user!

Has this been addressed yet? Is there a plan to fix it?

Hi All,

Any further development on this?
I don't feel comfortable giving receptionist system admin role to edit company phone book.

Any news on this?
it used to work in v18

you can edit company phonebook with the role "receptionist". Its not great as well but better than admin!

3CX have certainly taken a major "downgrade" path in V20. I strongly agree with @balans in saying 3CX has no idea what works inside a business and they're just making generalised assumptions. This is the first time since we started using 3CX, that we're now seriously investigating other alternative telephony systems.

Hi, I am the Channel Manager for the Australasia region here at 3CX. V20 has been a full rebuild from scratch due to getting it ready for features that are coming. There are two major updates planned very soon and there is a plan going forward. We are not just making general assumptions. @microtekau I will happily give you a call to discuss this further.

I've just sent you an email Sebastian.
