Adhoc conference name double ups on list

I am wondering if there is anyway I can stop names from doubling up in an ad-hoc conference call.

I use the makecall api to call a number, that number answers. I start a conference and in the list it display my user name twice in the list. The 3rd person I call their number is fine.

Any ideas???
