Admin can't login

3CX V18 (I know, last minute, but I thought it would be simple), hosted by 3CX.

I connect with my admin account. I created a 2nd admin account just in case. I can connect through the webclient address, but not on the console (yet I'm 99% sure I set the rights to System Administrator).

But now, I cannot connect with my initial admin account ! I'm 99.999% sure that I did not change anything to it. Starting to panic.

I try again with my second account, still can't connect. Try the "forget password", I receive the link. Few minutes later, try again "forget password", and now I'm not receiving anything !!!

So now I can't login to the console, can't receive an email. HEEELP

Maybe a problem with your browser? Clear complete cache, use another browser and private sessions.
Maybe blocked IP by the PBX? Use other public IP to login.

I tried with two different locations (so of course different browser, no cache, ...). Not working.

On one side it reassures me and on the other it really doesn't : i cannot receive any emails ! And it was working 2-3 hours ago ! So I believe in a scary bug, but what can I do now

As far as I know, probably not. This could still be an explainable behavior.

If you can't help yourself and if you don't have a good backup to restore another 3CX: wait until the locks expire and/or contact support.

Maybe someone else here has a better idea.

What I haven't asked yet: has the upgrade to v20 started or is it still v18?

I was getting things ready. Making sure I had valid admin accounts, system owner, do a backup ...

Now I'm really stuck

We've never had to do that because we've never locked ourselves out of a 3CX-hosted system

But without a valid external backup ...

What does this part mean? You get an error message when you log in? If so, what?

You may need to open a ticket...

If you have a valid backup, you can check whether you are the system owner or whoever else is (and you can change that if necessary for a restore).

I still think it's a linguistic error - because of system administrator and system owner.

Yes I know, but didn't even get a chance to get there.

- I logged in in my admin account
- I created a new user
- I changed the rights of the new user to "system administrator" (but in the webclient it's written "group administrator"). So maybe I went a bit too fast, and I assigned the wrong permissions.
- I can't login with my initial account (I did not reset or changed the password!)
- I cannot send email for "forget password" !

It's says "invalid username or passsword".

I'm not too sure why you are both talking about system owner.

I only wanted to setup a 2nd system ADMINISTRATOR. Now for some reason, my new user is not a system ADMINSTRATOR, but a system GROUP.

I can login in the webclient with my 2nd account, but not the console (which probably make sense if it's not a system administrator - but I still can't understand how I did this wrong)

That's still the problem you have to solve. Or contact support.

How old is you latest valid backup? Do you have one?
