It has been working fine unit recently. I tried to login with admin credentials but I cannot. I keep getting an error message (even though credentials are correct).

Error Message: "Login access denied. Too many incorrect login attempts. Try later or contact the Administrator."
- I am logging in with admin creds.

URL: <FQDN>:5001/#/login

Has something changed? -or has someone (malicious) attempted to login too many times? -security is set to block unknown IPs.

Hoping to get some help here, thank you...

Regarding your question, this indicates that you have enabled console restrictions and the IP address you are trying to access the management console from has not been added.

Since the system is on-premise, access the management console from another local computer and add your public IP, from where you are accessing the system remotely, to the console restrictions.

You can also log in directly to the management console from the Windows-based 3CX System machine and do the same.

Hi Charles,

To add more clarity, it is not on-premise, rather it is self-hosted with a cloud provider (effectively same type).

I am not able to access the server remotely. The 3CX system (server) is up and working - meaning calls, extension, etc., are running fine. Unfortunately, I need to administer somethings but cannot get in. Also, remote server reboots have been executed (including a stop and start too).

Windows or Linux? Do you have remote access to the machine?

You just have to get "on-net" to the PBX - inside the same subnet if possible.
If Linux, you can use SH Port Forwarding https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/web-portal-locked-out-completely.69139/#post-303084 to get "on-net"

Charles,

It is Windows. I tried that earlier but was not able. I have an idea to try something else. I will come back soon to update.

Hey Charles, I was able to hone-in to the core issue, which was public entry failures. I ended up having to replace the public IP. There must have been something wrong with it. So updated 3CX and SIP, so back to working again.

Though, I am wondering why the URL via FQDN (i.e., <FQDN>:5001/#/login) is still not working. I can remote into server just not that URL. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

A Pro license FQDN has a TTL of 6 hours, Enterprise 5 minutes. Does the FQDN point to the new IP? If not try restarting services, or setting the network/IP in 3CX to dynamic, wait a bit, and back to static.

Hi there,

It is Enterprise and is pointing to proper IP. I had restarted the services followed by a server restart too. It had been over 24 hours. Anyhow, I took your advice to try the dynamic-static toggle. I waited first time for a couple a minutes and then retried again by waiting 16 minutes. Neither worked.

Thanks for suggesting, any other thoughts to fix this...

What is “not working” then? If it’s the same console restriction/login failure as above then it’s the same solution noted above, connect from an IP that’s allowed aka on the server’s network.

The system and server are running fine. Just cannot access admin console for 3CX via URL. I can only access if I remote into server and then connect.

Yes, I am attempting from an allowed IP.

Maybe (IDK) with a recent update the URL is not allowed? - even on enterprise?

Have you checked the console restrictions section under the management console > Security > Console Restrictions, If this is set to 'Allow Access from specific IP Addresses', and if so, the IP address from where you are trying to access the management console is added?

D'oh, that was it. I had updated the 'IP Blacklist' to 'allow' but forgot that one. So silly of me ‍- thank you!

There are no outbound rules to configure.

On SMB there is much less to configure as on a On Prem
