Advice on migration from On-Premises to Self-Hosted (AWS)

Hey Team,

I'm keen for some advice. I need to move a version 18, update 8 PABX which is running on Windows Server using both custom DNS and a custom SSL Certificate into AWS and onto Linux. I'm comfortable with the backup and restore process to move the PABX backup file, but after reading some older articles on the forums, it sounds like there "might" be issues with migrations where the IP Addresses change for some reason.

The private IP address will certainly be different in AWS to what we were using on premises. The Public IP will also be different, but I can update DNS for the FQDN to address the change of the Public IP change and I'll be installing an SBC onsite which will handle the desk phones.

Where I need help please, is understanding how to move the custom SSL certificate from the Windows Server over to the Linux Server. Is this automate and included with the backup, or is this manual? Can I move the cert, or do I need to issue a new certificate?

With regards to the change of Private IP's, is this still a consideration/issue?

When creating a full backup this will include the FQDN and certificate. However you always need to ensure that you keep the certificates on a safe location as they are custom ones.
As for the public ip you might also need to notify your provider to allow the new ip.

Thank you, so the migration from Windows Server to Linux sounds very straight forwards then. I don't need to worry about the certificate at all? I can update the custom DNS to point to the new Public IP, sort out the firewall for inbound traffic and I'm away?
