After update to v20 Update 4 Alpha, lost all voice/recording transcription

Hello community.

I made the mistake of upgrading to Update 4 Alpha. It seems with this update, OpenAI transcription is removed in favor of a homegrown transcription serveice. I was interested, and that drove me to upgrade. Unfortunately, I'm on Pro and not Enterprise, so I don't get this feature. I am now learning that OpenAI is completely removed and now I can't even get Google transcription working again. Has anyone else seen this or have a solution? If I go to Settings -> Integrations Transcription, I can set to Google Speech engine and I can set language, but no other options. Then I go to Settings -> System -> Voicemail, there are no options there either.

There is no place to put the Google API key and there is no way I can find to specify the content to transcribe.

You need an enterprise licence for that, could it be possible you just have a pro licence?

I do have Pro, and understand that the 3CX managed service will be for Enterprise only. My issue is that Google transcription should be for Pro. I had this working Prior to U2 without issue, but can't re-enable it after going to U4. The comparison chart on 3cx.com shows voicemail transcription as being a Pro feature.

Yes, all the way to Step 5.8. At that point, there is no option to pick what to transcribe. If you look at the screenshots earlier, you will see what I am referencing.

- In System > Storage select "Google Storage" and upload a json exported from Google Workspace. No extra API key is needed.
- What to transcribe is now set per Department/User (see Options there).

In update 4 the link to Google Storage is defined under Storage



Then you will be able to define what is transcribed at the department level



You can then additionally override these settings at the Queue, Ring Group, or User level

Thanks. This is perfect. The docs are just a bit out-dated I guess and this points me in the right direction. Looks to be working now.

The selective transcription is a new feature in Update 4 which is still in Alpha, hence the documents not reflecting this yet.

If this is using the Google Storage, then yes, the transcripton will be using the same API. With OpenAi there is a different API key.
