Agent announcement

Hello everbody.

We use multilanguage IVR. Caller has an ability to choose language it prefers to communicate to. IVR finishes in a ring group. Its members are multilanguage too. So we need an ability to inform a callee which language has been chosen by the caller. I used an agent announcement for these purposes in Asterisk/Elastix/freePBX. This is a recorded voice prompt played to the callee before its connected to the caller. But there is no such function in 3CX. I can add the ring group name to Caller ID. But it is shrinked and not informative enough. Is there any other way I can use as a solution of the problem?

In the Management Console, go to Advanced --> Contacts, press Options and select Prepend Name. This should put the RG name at the beginning.

NickD_3CX, thanks. But a ring group name in Caller ID is shrinked when displayed and not informative enough.

I am not sure I understood, when you do the option I suggested, what appears on the screen of the phone? Also how many available characters can the phone display and what phone is it?

Phone model is Panasonic KX-TGP600RU. I don't know exactly how many characters it can display. "099729XXXX:Com-44277 (099729XXXX)" is shown instead of "099729XXXX:Ukr-Com-44277XXXX (099729XXXX)". Where "Ukr-Com-44277XXXX" is a ring group name. Append Name is enabled instead of Prepend Name in Contacts options. Caller ID must be shown fully too.

I would suggest that you make the ring group name shorter. Others have had the same issue with displays that were too small to show all of the information.

Are there any other solutions except adding the ring group name to Caller ID?

Not native to 3CX. Someone may offer an "add-on". Adding a name to Queues, ring groups and DIDs, is how call routing/origination is displayed to the extension in 3CX.
