Hey all,
I have a desired situation.
When a user misses a call I currently transfer that call to a call queue for someone else to answer.
If no-one answers I'd love it if the call could go back to the voicemail of the extension that missed it.
Does this make sense?
Anyone know a best practice way of doing this?

I can not think of a straightforward way to make this work. The only option would be to send the call to a Call Flow Designer application that then looks up what agent missed the call. But there is not an easy way to determine what agent missed the call.

You would need a separate service that uses the Call Control API to monitor all the queue calls and have that service write to a log the agent that missed the call. It would be possible to do, but probably not economically justifiable.

I'm afraid this is not possible unless you create a separate Queue for each extension you want this to apply for and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want that.

Makes sense
Just out of interest if I made a CFD that was the route for missed calls, and that CFD transitioned the call to a queue would I be able to have a timeout inside the CFD itself where it could route back to the extensions voicemail?
I probably wont' do this but just want it documented here what you guys think in case someone else has this issue.
And thanks for the quick reply =)

I'm afraid that that would not work because once the CFD routes the call to the Call Queue, the call would be out of the CFD's control and the CFD cannot intercept calls so there would be no way to retrieve it.
