Hi!

I'm new to 3CX and really enjoying it so far.

I'm setting it up for a client running a (very) small call center who has two separate incoming trunk lines going to the same pool of extensions.

I'd want to modify the incoming caller id / caller name to include the trunk name as a prefix.

So instead of 555-555-555 the display will show NAME1 555-555-555 or NAME2 555-555-555 so that the staff member answering knows where the calls are inbound from.

I'm sure this is possible but I haven't yet figured out where to do this.

Can someone point me in the right direction and, if possible, give me a quick example of how to include a reference to the incoming trunk line?

Thanks in advance,

Phill

Hello @nzopaque !

You can go in the "Contacts" menu and then click "Options". You'll have this :

11901

Then just take what you need and try it ;)

Hi @INDY_Mathieu,

It looks like that only applies to incoming calls that match an existing contact?

To give a bit more detail - my client will have 2 x free calling lines that each pass calls to the respective 3CX inbound trunk. So each free calling number will pass through hundreds of originating numbers.

As the calls come into 3CX we want to know which trunk (e.g.: which free calling number) the originating calls are coming through.

Does that make more sense?

Yes ! But 3CX devs put that option in Contact but it applies to every calls.

So if you send Trunk 1 calls to "Trunk 1" Queue/RG and Trunk 2 calls to "Trunk 2" Queue/RG, when a call arrives it will display the name before or after the number !

Did you try it ?

Ah, brilliant!

That sounds perfect. I'll try it in the morning.

Thank you so much!

You're welcome, tell me if it worked for you ;)
