Hi,

a lot of my people are using the web client. In my opinion, it is the best way to phone with the 3cx.
However, using Chrome there are two features missing which are very important to us:

1. We cannot answer calls with our headset buttons. There must be a functionality to answer/end calls by headset button press. Are there any tweaks or workarounds?

2. We would like to set personal ringtones. While you can tweak the Windows Softphone (ringtone.wav), there is yet no possibility to set a custom ringtone via the browser (i.e., the 3cx system). This should be a basic feature. When will it be implemented?

Thank you!

+1 on both points. Changing the ringtone seems like such a basic feature.

Definitely +1 for changing ring tones! If you have an open office and everyone is using 3CX, whenever a call is received everyone checks to see if it's their phone ringing.

The 3CX webclient includes integration for some headsets. The only supported brand however is Sennheiser. https://www.3cx.com/blog/docs/sennheiser-plugin-integration/

Pro versions of the PBX also include integration for Plantronics and Jabra but these were done as a best effort attempt and we cannot guarantee that all headsets will work.

Hi Yiannis, that blog page links to https://en-de.sennheiser.com/headset-software-pc#content-with-image-8838 which as far as I can tell is a plugin for the Windows client software. The last page of https://s3.amazonaws.com/assets.sen.../12280/3CXPhone_plugin-Installation_Guide.pdf says "On launching the“3CXPhone for Windows” softphone, Sennheiser 3CXPhoneplugin will be loaded automatically." Is there a separate browser plugin installer or does this also work for browsers, and if so which browser(s)?

Thanks,
Steve

The plugin will launch automatically for the windows client after the plugin is installed. For the webclient you need to also install the Sennheiser HeadSetup Pro. Google Chrome is the supported browser for the Webclient.

For what it's worth https://www.3cx.com/3cxacademy/videos/basic/web-client/ shows both Chrome and Firefox are supported, so is maybe wrong or out of date. (We did find one thing so far that doesn't work in Firefox...the keypad button is disabled while on a call so one can't press keys, for instance call a client and enter an extension, or enter a PIN code to join a conference).
