Answer incoming call on phone not in ring group

Very new to 3CX and I have been trying to find out if this is possible.
We have a small system with 8 handsets, I have 3 phones in a ring all ring group, which all works as required, but the manager's phone is not in the ring group and he is in the office longer hours than the other staff and would like to be able to answer an incoming call if he is the only one in the office. On the old system they had, he could see the line on the phone flashing when there was an incoming call and he could press the line button to answer the call.
Can this be done with 3CX?

You cannot monitor the Line per se but you can monitor an extension the same way. Since this is a Ring All Ring Group, and therefore all extensions ring at the same time, monitoring any of the extensions would essentially be the same as monitoring the line itself. Simply provision a BLF Type key on the manager's IP Phone for one of the extensions, it will blink red when that extension is ringing, picking up the call only requires that you press it while it's blinking.
