Hey all,
We have a few clients that use 3CX, and we have the PBX always off site in our datacenter, so we typically use a local SBC in the office to connect the phones to the PBX. This has lead to issues where SBCs get turned off or fail or a windows update causes them to go offline and then the phones all stop working which is a big pain.
A lot of our clients use Yealink T46U phones, which can be set as router phones, and I'm wondering is there a down side to setting every phone as a router phone so they're never dependent on another device for a connection? I figure maybe this causes an increase in network traffic but most of our clients are fairly small (less than 30 users) usually with pretty good network quality and good ISP connections, so unless its a huge uptick in traffic I'm not worried. But are there other issues with running each phone as its own router?
