We just replaced our ages-old FreePBX/Asterisk System with 3cx and we're quite happy with it. There is one feature that I simply could not replicate and maybe someone has a suggestion. In FreePBX, we were able to add a caller ID prefix to each ring group, so that any call which went to sales would have SAL: pre-pended to the caller ID. Same for accounting, support, etc. This way, every extension in the ring group could see which ring group was actually being rang. Since I will ignore calls to sales and accounting about 99% of the time, I'd like to know which ring group is being rang by the caller. Any way to do this ? TIA!

Yes you can do this, but it will do it for Ring groups, queues and inbound rules name.

Go to Advanced > Contacts > Options > Append/Prepend Name to Caller ID. You can set it to Prepend to insert it before the CNAME.

Thank you so much! That work's perfectly!
