Hello all, this is an informational post that some of you probably already know and some may not.
We just switched/upgraded our AT&T SIP trunk service from their older "IP-Flex" to the new "IP-Flex". They are configured differently. Specifically on the new one they (AT&T) points all SIP traffic my public IP address and of course my SIP is pointed to their IP address, which is of course my "Default Gateway" (DG) out on that line. Anyway inbound calls worked just fine, outbound would not happen. After working with the install team for over an hour their packet trace showed my outbound SIP call was coming from my DG and not my Public IP as it should be. After searching I finally found the following setting under the "Options" tab on the SIP Trunk configuration. That setting was "Put Public IP in SIP VIA Header". This was annoying as I would think this would have been done automatically especially since when I was troubleshooting the issue I added a new SIP trunk using the wizard and would think that since I selected my provider as being AT&T it would have at the very lease asked if I wanted to include that information. Anyway everything is working correctly now and I wanted to pass along this information incase somebody else has this same issue.

I'm adding the following phrases so that a search query may find the issue it caused.
IP-Flex not dialing out
IP-Flex inbound working, can not dial out
IP-Flex not showing my public IP address in SIP Header
SIP header showing same from and to address
