The latest SP2 update brought about a change in audio conferencing functionality that has received mixed feedback at best. Unfortunately matters were further complicated by an unforeseen issue that made accessing ad hoc conferencing from the clients difficult. This further aggravated matters. We apologize for this inconvenience. In this blog post I...

Great info Nick

The first decision by 3cx to change the way conference was working, was received very badly.
Thx for listening to your community and partners, changing your minds and releasing this new, and upcoming versions.

Please speed-up release of SP3 -- even fixing only conferencing and call recordings issues. New functionality probably could be postponed for SP4 or so. Or just release a patch before releasing SP3. January is too far away for customers to wait.

I agree, because the clients stayed on SP1

Hello Nick,
Do you intend to integrate the possibility of recurring conference calls?
This is a highly requested feature

Thank you for your great work !

@bravad - Thank you for your nice feedback! yes i have heard it before but please upvote that feature in the ideas forum and we will consider

Nick, that's all really good news! Can't wait.

Some food for thought... "Prior to SP2 attendees would be called automatically to join the conference. No other PBX did it this way." Maybe doing it your way is what actually set you apart from the other PBX's. I'd take a poll before ditching any features, particularly unique ones, in favor of doing things the way everyone else is doing it.

No one here likes the web version of outlook 365, is there a reason the scheduling can't open the standard Outlook program installed on the desktop? Also would like an option to have a static meeting code for individuals so they can just give out the same code all the time for their person conference calls. (example, weekly meeting will always use code 123456) Sending a new code every time is a real issue.

It would be interesting to have an option to generate reports by conference ID rather than the conference extension.
has clients who use 3CX with the legacy PBX in order to make conferences,
When a user invites people to a room, he or she should generate a report based on their room's PIN number.
and it would also be nice to have the option of recording the lectures in the room itself and not in an extension number.

Thanks Nick - All good stuff - keeping 3CX in the lead! Always better to implement new or eliminate existing features with an option to retain existing functionality (as default), or enable/disable the new if desired - IMHO.

Do we have an update on the availability of integrating an Audio conference with a Video Web conference to allow people to call into the meeting via telephone to participate via audio only? We have customers who won't drop webex until this is available in 3CX Webmeeting.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the heads up John! Yes this is in the works for SP 4....

@Allesandro - You can create these requests in the ideas forum
@northfield - You have a static webmeeting link but with click to call and audio conf integration you will be able to give out that link to users so they can make instant conf calls.

Can you integrate audio and video web conference allowing people to call into a web meeting.
if you can how do you set it up

I would recommend the following features:

1. Outlook integration plugin for scheduling so you can schedule directly from Outlook--this simplifies user workflows as many people don't want to have to schedule in two applications. I like that you can now send the invite from your own account now but a lot of people end up working like this:
A. Open 3CX application and click "Conferences"
B. Web-browser opens and they have to log in.
C. Schedule conference call in web-application.
D. Outlook.com/Gmail/Whatever web-site opens and they finish scheduling from there.
E. Close web-browsers because their preference is to use the local applications instead.
That's a potential of three apps to make a conference call in order to be able to receive the responses directly to your inbox.

2. In concert with the above or as an intermediary step: the ability to schedule from the 3CX Phone app and have it launch the local mail app (Outlook, Mail, whatever they set as their default) with the invite in it.

3. Support for recurring conference calls.
