Hi;

I have done some audio dial-in test today, I found that when I schedule a Audio Meeting and asking the participant to dial to my DID number, it works. The caller and the audio meeting organizer can talk over the phone.

However; when I tried the Webmeeting, some meeting participants using Webmeeting and 1 of the participant is using dial in. The dial-in partipant cannot join and talk, she only get the on hold music after entering the conference ID and #.

What am I missing here?

Also, for the Audio meeting, once the meeting end, the participant hear the music, how can I change it with a prompt to notify the meeting is end, or disconnect the call without music.

regards

What license are you using?

Dial-In is only available for Pro and Enterprise.

Hello;

For Dial-in, if it is required to forward the port 443 from outside (internet) to my 3CX server in order to participate the Webmeeting?

Hi Kane,

Yes it is. The system uses the web meeting bridge to send the dial in participant audio into the MCU servers, which will merge with your browser web meeting session.

If there is no bidirectional connection between the two sides (using HTTPS port, and your RTP range of your PBX to contact the 3CX MCU) then you will face the problem that you described above.

I have followed the documentation here https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/firewall-router-configuration/ to configure my inbound traffic to firewall except for the port 443 because it is being used by other service.

For Webmeeting dial-in, if port 443 is must for inbound and forwarding to 3CX server? I have also port 5001 open for inbound and forwarding to 3CX server. If port 443 for inbound to firewall is must, can I change it to other port and how?

The outbound traffic of port 443 from 3CX server is fine.

thanks!

This is either 5001 or 443 https://www.3cx.com/docs/ports/

If your PBX HTTPS port is 5001 then you need to make sure 5001 is properly forwarded and that you are also not GeoBlocking the 3CX MCUs from the PBX (that's where the dial in audio will be sent). Your entire RTP range must also be open according to the link above.

Do an NSLOOKUP on mcu.3cx.net to see the IPs we use, and ensure you are not blocking traffic

Yes, I am using port 5001 to access my 3CX server including webclient or management console.

I also checked the inbound traffic for port 5001 is in good connection.

The Select Your Preferred MCU Server (Select closest) I selected is in Oregon.
The webmeeting is fine only not working for the dial in to join webmeeting (combine video and audio).
Also check the ip address of the listed mcu.3cx.net below but no of them are blocked.

Ok start a new meeting, make sure you enter it first from your browser and then have a person dial in to the meeting. This is the correct procedure to ensure that the dial in participant hears voice from the web based participants.

If this fails, then send me a PM with the meeting link, and a screenshot of the meeting while it is running so I can see what participants are in the list. Do not delete the meeting until we have a chance to take a look.

can I send the meeting to your private email address? By the way, what is the PM means?
When I dial in, I hear the onhold music.

Apparently, it is using port 443 for connecting to 3cx.net server. My firewall is open port 443 for outbound traffic for all hosts but for port 443 inbound; it is only for a particular server (not 3CX).

Did you try to remove that firewall rule and test it again?

You need to make a new meeting again. Join it from the PC, then dial in from a phone.

Thank you for your reply.

The inbound traffic of port 443 is being used for a critical production server that cannot be removed but if the port 443 inbound traffic is MUST for the 3CX server for Dial-in meeting, I need to setup another test environment.

Modified the rule on Firewall to allow inbound port 443 to 3CX server and made a test but still not working.

Try to perform the same test using an internal extension to dial in to the meeting's internal number (usually 700).

Will the internal caller face the same issue or does it only affect external callers?
