So every once in a while, I answer a call and the sound come out my speaker ent the mic is my headset's, making me look like an idiot.

Is there a way to ensure the audio settings don't change?

I've searched the forum but haven't found anything. Happens in both computers I use the Windows softphone with.

I'm going to guess that sometimes the 3CX app starts and your headset isn't "available" (meaning the dongle is unplugged or similar - but Windows doesn't show it as an audio device). As a result 3CX can't "bind" to that device that isn't present and resets back to Primary (system default).

Fix? Make sure the headset it available when 3CX starts.

Well, it is available but maybe the app is not patient enough when the computer comes back on from sleep. The dongle is always plugged.

If you want to brute force it...

in %appdata%\3CXPhone.xml

The config line: <MicrophoneDeviceGuid> and <SpeakerDeviceGuid> will contain the GUID of the device. Set it via the App, edit the file, copy the GUID.

Now you can replace the GUID via *automation* whenever/however you want. For example, you can have a script run every time 3CX is started and that script does a find/replace of the config file lines.

Awesome, that's what I was looking for, thanks!
