I've read quite a few threads about auto dialing from within a web page. They say that to use this feature you can only use Chrome or Explorer by installing the corresponding extension. My first observation is that I have not understood the need for such an extension since the process is the same without it! In fact, it makes it more difficult. Since it adds an extra click of acceptance that the extension pops out before opening the desktop dialer! Also, automatic dialing works flawlessly in other browsers as well without the need of any extension, provided of course, that the web page uses the tag tel: for the phone number. Am I missing something and don't know it? The only use of such an extension would simply be to give the option to make the call directly without needing the extra 2 clicks. At this moment the extension should not be called "click to call" but "3 clicks to call" !!!:)

Click to call turns what it think are numbers on a webpage but not formatted into a tel: link INTO a tel: formatted link. That's it's main goal.

Everything that happens after that (confirming it, dialing) has to do with your PC / Softphone itself. Your browser can be configured to skip asking which app to use to dial it, and not every softphone out there makes you click the call button.

I didn't see that. I have visit many web pages with telephone numbers but never see them as link!!! Maybe has to do with the format that it expects.

I never said anything like that. I have solved this. Just when it asks you which app to open, you make it default and it doesn't show up again. I was referring to the window that the extension itself pops up. But this also mentions in some blog about adjusting the registry to solve it. So all that's left is to make the call directly without having to make the final click on the dialer. And from what I have seen this has been a demand of many people for years without anything being done!

Hi,

Same situation here, customers are asking us to make the call go through directly when clicking the link in the browser, without having to click the green 'call' button in the 3CX application or web client. Is it possible to do this? At the very least, it should be optional to enable or disable this function. For them, having to click to initiate the call is a waste of time.

Here it was suggested as idea: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/auto-dial-option-for-3cx-windows.54705/

Any update?

Regards,
Víctor
