Hi 3CX

We are a paid up annual Pro setup, 50 extensions

Every quarter our 3CX updates its certificate automatically but for some reason this qtr it failed. It didn't try again so we are without.

Should I be bothered enough to do anything about it? My system appears OK as is. Do I really need it?

Thanks

Daren

FYI 3CX is licensed by simultaneous calls so 50 extension could be a 4SC license or a 1024 SC license. But that really isn't relevant to this. You don't need a paid license for SSL, even the free one will renew.

Providing more information would help in troubleshooting:

If you haven't noticed anything not working then it would seem like you don't need it, but depending on the why, it could lead to other issues.

Many features will not work if you don't have a valid SSL cert. I would verify the cert is out of date / not renewed to start with, then if a couple of attempts (it should try nightly) are still failing I would post back here with more info about the errors.

What version of 3CX are you running (e.g.: v16.0.8.16 or v18.0.3.450)? You can see this next to your Licence entry on the 3CX dashboard or by looking at the version number on the licence information page.

If you are running any of the v16 3Cx installations you will need to install the latest patches for 16 for your SSL certificate to update properly. It would be better, if you can, to upgrade to version 18 (and install any/all patches).
