Automatic Update Failing

Hi,

I've been having this trouble for a month or so (just getting round to having a look at it).

Each night about 10 of my hosted 3CX systems fail to update.

The same thing happens if I try to update manually too...

This is the error log - see pretty obvious what the issue is, but does anyone have any advice on the best way to resolve?

SSH to your instance (will need to do this per instance)

run this command

wget -O - https://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/misc/debianpatches/9/16/0/5/20200619-os-update.sh | bash

Has anyone managed to run this on a hosted EC2 instance? I just get a "you need to be root to run this script" error - even running:

sudo wget -O - https://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/misc/debianpatches/9/16/0/5/20200619-os-update.sh | bash

You have to be root to run the script

Yes you'll need to SSH in as root.

Never used AWS so couldnt tell you. Might be a question for Amazon Support.

I have tried all advises in this forum to get rid of the error http://repo.saltstack.com/apt/debian/9/amd64/archive/2019.2.0 stretch Release does no longer have a release file, but none do work.

I can run the commands as above, but the result is that the old update is still present. If I look in the
/etc/apt/sources.list but here is no 2019 repo present at all, so nothing to put a # in front of?

Has anybody another tip as my version remains 16.0.619 and for half a year nothing can be updated...Really a pain as 3CX did ruin the environment and no clear manual to solve the problem they created!!!!

@UnDutchable30 you have Buster repositories from what I can see in the screenshot.

Repositories don't need to be changed and when installing with the 3CX ISO you do not need to perform any changes to the OS itself. 3CX will take care of that.

The issue at hand was with a 3rd party repository going stale.

The command which you will need is:
wget -O - https://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/misc/debianpatches/9/16/0/5/20200619-os-update.sh | bash

You may need to sudo if you you aren't logged in as root.

Hi Nicolas,

The buster repositories where there from the OVH setup, I did not select/choose them.

I used now several times the wget command, but every time it does not result in anything, so for some reason this command is not sticky or does not run wel, despite it does not show any error.
