Automatically set a users 3CX status to "Working offsite" using location services

Hello,

Is there a way to automatically set our field based staff 3CX status if they are not located in the office.

The desire is for the users not to get ring group calls when they are working offsite but still get internal calls.

They can set their status manually to achieve this but we were interested to see if this could be automatically set if they are not in the building?

There are two ways to change the status of an extension

• Office Hours (Scheduled):
  If your staff typically work offsite at specific set times, you can use the Office Hours feature to automatically change their status based on the time of day. This allows you to exclude them from ring groups during those periods.

• Manually change the status through the Mobile App :
  If their schedule varies, the 3CX mobile app makes it easy for users to manually change their status when they leave or arrive at the office..

Thank you, no fixed hours, the jobs vary from day to day so it cannot be scheduled. Sounds like the only option is for users to manually set their status, which won't be at the forefront of their mind. It is about avoiding calls reaching staff which might distract them....should they get a call in the car, working at height and similar scenarios, ideally not. The vast majority of calls will be ring group calls and it is the managements responsibility to consider if this is appropriate and how to minimize those when staff are off-site.

When using the 3CX mobile client (android / iPhone) the IP address is registered with 3CX. Subscribing to registration events can capture this information. You can then compare the phone's IP subnet to your internal network subnet. If the subnets are not the same, you can change the user's presence. We can do this using our VoIPTools API.
