I have more than 300 old Avaya 9611G and 9621G phones connected to an on-premise 3CX PBX but they log out frequently or after applying a 3CX update. This is annoying because the auto generated passwords are complex and hard to type in the phones by our users.
One of the main reasons to change to 3CX was the support for old Avaya phones, but log them in frequently is becoming a constant complaint from our users and a waste of time of our support personnel.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You will have to weight that problem against the cost of replacing them with different phones like Fanvil, Yealink, Snom...

Unfortunately those Avaya models need to be logged in manually, and if anything happens that the phone doesn't like it may log itself out (ie. temporary network issues, rebooting/updating your server etc).

Plan to gradually replace them if you want to avoid this problem. 3CX only had legacy support for them when they were added. They are no longer officially supported or maintained.

Thanks for the advice, we will think about replacing those old phones.
